Welcome to TALKING TUESDAY

Sweetfully Ever After is introducing Talking Tuesday.

It is fun and easy-simply comment below with you answer.

The holiday season is upon us, which means LOTS of festivities and planning is upon us. So tell us your favorite pre-season ritual or tradition that takes place in your home today or in your childhood.

No answer is too big or too short, so have fun!

Truly,
Sweetfully Ever After

  1. Sad to say that I have not done any pre-season rituals :(... and I feel that I should since I now have a little one. I feel that it is important for my son to experience the American traditions as well as the traditions of my husband & I's parents' customs. Unfortunately, it just dawned on me that I don't believe my husband and I experienced that much of the traditions growing up as we do not provide these experiences to our son....note to self, MUST work on this.

For the sake of this topic, I remember having a stocking that my mother would put up on our wall next to the Christmas tree (since we lived in a studio apartment and didn't have a fireplace to sit in front of to warm our cold toes)...anyways she used put little toys and whatnot in this stocking that I would check religiously everyday b/c I just loved receiving gifts, what child didn't...oh wait, I still do, that something I didn't grow out of, but do we ever do???. Sometimes I would get stocking happy and check it too soon before my mother had the time to fill the stocking and I would get bummed that there would be nothing in it and she would have to tell me "did you check your stocking today". Of course I would say "yes", but with a sad tone and she would have to tell me to check it again and I remember thinking to myself, "for what, there's nothing in it, what are you trying to do, play with my emotions?"...okay maybe not like that, but you get the point. So there I was dragging my feet of what the 2 steps to my stocking, I would put my hand in it and feel something. I would get all excited trying to decipher what it was before I took it out and then I couldn't wait any longer and succumb to the excitement and whalla!... my cute little my melody toy.
